CNME director Adah Almutairi’s TEDxUCSD talk available online
Prof. Almutairi spoke at the inaugural TEDxUCSD event on May 11, 2013 at the invitation of its student organizers. Her talk explains her passion for creating materials with entirely new properties and her interest in materials that fall apart in response to light. She was one of 15 invited speakers, whose inspiring talks covered everything from the search for Genghis Khan’s tomb using noninvasive technology to improving global access to online learning to how analog devices can inform design of intuitive interfaces. The event, themed “Tradition & Innovation,” gave hundreds of students the opportunity to interact with leading inventors, entrepreneurs, scientists, and activists.
